Privacy Statement
Your personal data is very important to us. Since 25th of may 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation applies in Austria. Therefore we want to inform you how the "Gewaltschutzzentrum Tirol, Verein für Gewaltprävention, Opferhilfe und Opferschutz, Maria Theresien-Straße 42a, 6020 Innsbruck" handles the processing of your personal data (e.g. name, address, date of birth, phone number).
We request you to please inform us about modifications of your personal data so we can always keep all information updated.
Should you not want to provide any personal data there is also the opportunity to make use of an anonymous counseling in our institution.
1. Principles relating to the processing of personal data
Our job consists among other things to offer counseling concerning protection and security and to make a contribution to the prevention of violence. Gewaltschutzzentrum Tirol is contractually instructed to do so by the Ministry oft he Interior of Austria based on §25 Abs 3 SPG (Sicherheitspolizeigesetz).
Gewaltschutzzentrum Tirol is furthermore instructed by the Ministry of Constitution, Reforms, Deregulation and Justice based on §66 Abs 2 StPO (Strafprozessordnung) to offer victims of violence psychosocial and juridical assistance during court proceedings if required.
2. Purpose of the processing of personal data
We are processing your personal data for the following purposes
- for the realization and support regarding our counseling
- to submit an application or document to the court or other public authorities if required
- for the realization of assistance during court proceedings
- for the creation of our internal anonymized statistics
3. Transmission of your personal data
We are severly sworn to secrecy. The transmission of your personal data is exclusively carried out upon your approval, except if there is an immediate danger to your life or a severe child endangerment.
4. Duration of the storage of your personal data
We keep your personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes mentioned in point 2 or the defence of possible liability claims.
5. Your rights concerning your personal data
You have the right
- to know if and which personal data we store from you
- adjustment, completion and/or deletion of incorrect personal data or data which was not processed legally
- to request the restriction of the processing concerning your personal data
- to disagree to the processing of your personal data under specific circumstances or to withdraw your previously given consent
- to request transferability of your personal data

If you have the opinion that the processing of your personal data by Gewaltschutzzentrum Tirol is against the applicable law or your rights concerning your personal data have been violated in any other way you do have the possibility in Austria to make a complaint at the Datenschutzbehörde (office for data protection).
